About the project

Modern Building in the Middle of Old Town

This may be the first time you’ve heard of Celínka. She’s a fictional character penned by Eliška Krásnohorská, Bedřich Smetana’s librettist and one of the most important Czech women writers of the 19th and 20th centuries. In a two-volume series, she created the character of a charming girl, cherished by her parents as if she were the most precious treasure. Her name was Celínka. Like her, the building on Elišky Krásnohorské Street has a good provenance and a bright future.

The Celínka residential project consists of a seven-story building that was built between 1927–28 during the final phase of the urban renewal of Old Town and Josefov. It was designed by the architects Alois Malý and Karel Geisselreiter, who also planned to live there. They therefore devoted their energies to creating a perfect functionalist apartment building that was ahead of its time in many aspects. This is one of the reasons it has such great potential. The renowned architectural firm mimolimit created the plans for its complete reconstruction, after which it will offer 8 exceptional apartments. The apartments are truly extraordinary thanks to their spacious layouts, combination of old world charm and modern sophistication, and unique location. There aren’t many streets like Elišky Krásnohorské in Prague.

Planned completion of the 2nd quarter of 2019.
